Who is Social Media Club LA?
SMCLA is the Los Angeles chapter of the international Social Media Club organization. We are a nonprofit, volunteer-based club, with members throughout the Los Angeles community from a wide variety of industries including tech, marketing, PR, entertainment, entrepreneurial, and media. Our monthly SMCLA panels draw 50-100 in-person attendees and are always livestreamed, bringing in hundreds more viewers. Our panels cover topics that impact social media marketing now. We have a great slate of events planned for 2017, including livestreaming, a members-only photography workshop, paid media, sports and social media, and more!

The Social Media Club of Los Angeles focuses on the unique mix of entertainment, technology and culture that makes Los Angeles an epicenter of the next evolution of the Internet. Founded in July 2008, SMCLA hosts monthly panels on topical and relevant social media issues.
Where Do We Connect?
We maintain a blog on our website, an active community on Facebook, an e-mail newsletter, Twitter and LinkedIn). Our affiliation with the global Social Media Club professional organization allows us an even wider platform to broadcast our events, articles and ideas via http://www.socialmediaclub.org. Globally, SMC’s reach extends to tens of thousands of participants and continues to grow as social media becomes more important to doing business.

How Do We Do It?
SMCLA hosts monthly events on the third Tuesday of every month. Thanks to an exciting new partnership with General Assembly in Los Angeles, all our panels will be held at either the Santa Monica or Downtown LA campus of GA. SMCLA members also receive a $25 monthly credit towards GA classes or workshops! These monthly panels are our most important platform for gathering the Los Angeles community together and discussing issues in social media. We use our website to showcase additional content related to our monthly panel discussions, share what’s new in the Los Angeles social media community, and to recap our panels. In addition, we’re active on many social media platforms, using them as beacons for sharing best practices and inviting people to join the discussion.
