This is a great chance to make a difference in the Southland community. The food and funds raised will help the Food Bank supply more than 650 charitable agencies (adding up to more than 1,000 sites) that provide food for low-income children, families, senior citizens and individuals in need throughout Los Angeles County. The Food Bank currently provides the equivalent of 830,000 meals every week.

Our help allows the Food Bank to secure and distribute nutritious food, staples and personal-care items to serve more children and families in need. With every $1 we raise, the Food Bank can distribute enough food for 4 meals.

Did We Mention…YOU’RE AMAZING!!

That’s why we work so hard all year to bring you premier social media programming and offer great free gifts to you from our sponsors. SMCLA “Social Media for Social Good” panel on April 17

Ever since Social Media changed the digital landscape a decade ago, we have seen an astonishing number of societal developments take place around the globe. Remember the London Riots in 2011? Residents reclaimed their city by using social channels to organize a massive cleanup effort. During Hurricane Sandy, Corey Booker responded to residents in need by tweeting. Now, Mayor Booker continues to use Twitter and Facebook to make a difference in the community he is responsible for.

What happens when you have digital marketing professionals from leading B2B brands like LinkedIn and Adobe in the same room talking shop? Besides the amplification generated from more than 80 guests in attendance, our event generated thought leadership, insights and an interactive discussion that engaged social media influencers around the globe and trended on Twitter.

Last night at Cross Campus LA in Santa Monica, Rachel Luxemburg, Stephen Gundee, Erick Brownstein, Eric Schwartzman, and Lauren Buchman brought their A-game with respect to best practices in B2B social media marketing. We couldn’t have done it without them!

The evening began with a call to action through the SMCLA Twitter feed. The first two guests to retweet a message from the @smc_la account won a gift from our friends at LinkedIn. The fast-fingers awards went to Michelle Magoffin and S.M. McDowell. Enjoy your T-shirts, and well done!
